I know I could probably use the builtin commercial detection of MythTV but I don't mind doing it by hand for the few shows I do archive just to know they are 100%. My source material for this is standard mpg files generated by MythTV. It doesn't give you the customization of comskip (in comskip, you can turn every possible detection feature on or off and fine tune it however you want) but I'm not disappointed in its accuracy even without tuning. For most other channels, its pretty much dead on.
#CTIVO SKIP COMMERCIALS SOFTWARE#
This software makes editing those cut markers about as easy as it can be done. The built in ad-detective thing works like 95% and only sometimes do I need to edit a show (like HIST or DISC) where they put like a 1min show clip in between like ten+ commercials towards the last ten minutes of a show. I used to use comskip (donating member) but now I use Video Redo Plus (commercial) on Windows. Just make sure to tag the post with the flair and give a little background info/context. On Fridays we'll allow posts that don't normally fit in the usual data-hoarding theme, including posts that would usually be removed by rule 4: “No memes or 'look at this '” We are not your personal archival army.No unapproved sale threads, advertisement posts, or giveaways.

No memes or 'look at this old storage medium/ connection speed/purchase' (except on Free Post Fridays).
